Worship is more than music, but the corporate experience of worship through music is a vital part of our relationship with god.
I view music in worship as an organic extension of our declaration of the greatness of God. The individual statements of each song are woven together, emphasizing aspects of our incredible God, until a larger picture is formed that attempts to bring focus to the indescribable. The use of technology in worship, from loops and backing tracks, to lighting and other visual elements, is the enhanced means to this end. At its core, however, musical expressions of worship should never dictate your theology, nor should it distract from the “audience of One” that the worship is directed towards.
This section is dedicated to providing an example of how I lead in the corporate worship setting. Below, you will find both audio and video examples of my leading style, which will illustrate my attempts at converging music, technology, and creativity. Recent Worship Services
Here are some recent live streams from my home church in Lutz, Florida. I serve in many capacities, both on and off-stage, to bring our service to the internet every week! And I don’t even need to play guitar to do it!
THE “LOCKDOWN PROJECT”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, our church (along with many others) scrambled to learn how to utilize the internet to continue the work of the church. While doing that, “Zoom sing-a-longs” became a popular thing to do while on lockdown. While we did not use Zoom for this, I was one of the leaders of this project. I developed the method for each member to record their part, and I mixed the audio for this. It is 100% real, and we pray it continues to bring honor and glory to God!
